Normally i do not get voyager numbers as alot of the time i rely on zooming in on the photograph for it , and due to the placement of the numbers on these units its not always possible, however this time i went rite upto both ends of the unit and no numbers were displayed?

Help Point Starcross station
Via Flickr:
One of two new help points installed by first great western as part of the franchise commitment.... it will be interesting how the sea air effects these... well they will probably in fairness be better off than the poor units that have to put up with chavs
Exmouth - Starcross Ferry Sign At Starcross Station
Via Flickr:
The station at starcross also acts as an interchange for the ferry to exmouth.... so you can get off the train thats going to exmouth and get on a ferry that goes to...ummm...exmouth, ok thats probably not what its designed for but i will have to take a trip on this one day !
Dmu StopBoards
Via Flickr:
................. well for those who dont know what these are.... they remind drivers of where to stop at a station .... the big numbers are for number of carriages , and the 14x+153 is for types of unit.... in this case a unit in the class 140-144 (to be honest it will be 142 or 143...) consisting of 2 cars attached to a 153 making 3 cars in total
Posters At Starcross Station
Via Flickr:
Some people take photos of the station sign, others of the station entrance....i think im going to collect photos of these...... i have too much time on my hands!

Atmospheric Railway Inn Starcross Devon
Via Flickr:
Situated opposite the Starcross Station and Exmouth Ferry service. Has a wealth of railway memorabilia on the walls, a great deal conected with Isambard Kingdom Brunel and the Atmospheric Railway ... an air pressure and water driven train service built in the mid 1840's ! Sheltered garden to the rear along with a family room where the railway theme is continued in the form af a unique purpose built carriage bar. Has a BBQ for hire.

While its not a perfect station for photographing trains, and from a passenger point of view it is pretty basic.... this is one of my favorite stations in the south west
